About Tenant Help

Helping tenants take the next step with housing disrepair.

We help tenants in England and Wales talk through problems in their rented home and understand the next step. If you decide to proceed, we introduce you to a solicitor who can assess your situation.

Tenant Help

We listen to your situation, explain the next step and, if you decide to proceed, introduce you to a solicitor.

A solicitor

The solicitor assesses whether they can help and explains their terms and potential costs.

What you can expect

A conversation about your home, with clear information about the next step.

  • Space to explain

Tell us about the problems in your rented home, what you have reported to your landlord and how your household is affected.

  • A clear next step

Understand Tenant Help’s role and what a solicitor would assess. An introduction does not guarantee a successful claim.

  • Your decision

Ask questions and understand the terms and potential costs before deciding whether to proceed.

Let’s talk about your situation

If you’re dealing with housing disrepair in England or Wales, start by telling us what is happening in your home.

You do not have to use a claims management company

Tenant Help Ltd is a claims management company. Our housing disrepair referral service is free to you. We receive a referral fee from the solicitor when we introduce a case to them.

If your housing disrepair claim is successful, the solicitor's success fee is 25% of compensation recovered, plus VAT (30% including VAT at the current 20% VAT rate). This is the success fee only. Other deductions, insurance premiums or cancellation charges may apply under the solicitor's agreement.

You can complain to your landlord yourself for free. After following your landlord's complaints process, you may be able to use the Housing Ombudsman in England or the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales yourself for free. Their eligibility rules and remit apply.
